All about PRE-WORKOUT
A pre-workout supplement is a product designed to be consumed before exercise to enhance performance, energy, and focus during a workout. These supplements typically contain a combination of ingredients that aim to increase alertness, boost energy levels, improve blood flow, and reduce perceived fatigue. The ingredients in pre-workout supplements vary, but they often include a combination of the following:
Caffeine – stimulant that can increase alertness and energy levels.
Beta-Alanine – Amino acid that may help improve endurance and reduce muscle fatigue.
Creatine – A compound that helps provide energy for short bursts of intense activity.
Nitric Oxide Boosters – Such as arginine or citrulline, which may improve blood flow and increase nutrient delivery to muscles.
B Vitamins – Essential for energy metabolism.
Amino Acids – Building blocks of protein, which may aid in muscle recovery and growth.
Electrolytes – Minerals like sodium, potassium, and magnesium to help maintain hydration and balance electrolytes.
However, pre-workouts can also be taken in a form of meal, it should
contain mostly carbs, moderate protein, and low fat. Our body favors using carbs as a primary source of energy when doing physical activities, so implementing a good pre-workout meal will give you a boost of energy during your workouts.
My go-to pre-workout meals are usually these foods, you can just mix and match them according to your preference:
CARB SOURCE:
White rice, Sweet potato, Oats, Banana, Whole wheat bread, Chicken breast, Whey protein, Beef, Fish, Eggs, Avocado.
